Food Truck Distribution

 April, 2025 - "40 truckloads of food per month are at risk.  Funding cuts are limiting our ability to provide food for our neighbors" - Houston Food Bank

In April of 2025, an announcement was made that all mobile distributions were being suspended due to the limited supply of food, presumably due to cuts/pauses in federal funding from the USDA. (For reference, the Houston food bank is facing an $11 million shortfall.)  All May distributions in 2025 were cancelled.

It’s worth noting that we have never had to suspend our mobile distribution - not even during the global pandemic. Our church was the anchor for our community during those trying times, with a continuous distribution twice a month.  Since the federal cuts in April of 2025, our distribution dates have been cut in half and the food provided is noticeably less.  

We are committed to maintaining this ministry to our friends and neighbors.  In November & December, we hosted food drives and collected hundreds of pounds of food for the Galveston County Food Bank.  We will continue to do everything possible to maintain this much needed ministry.

• There is no cost to you
• Serving Galveston County and surrounding areas.
• Food Truck distribution begins at Chester Davis Sportsplex, 1251 W. League City Parkway
• After receiving a ticket there, you will proceed in groups to the church at 10:30 AM
• You will remain in your vehicles where you will answer a few registration questions.
• Food will be loaded into your vehicle.

• Arrive at the church by 10:00 AM and sign in at the gym door.
• Usually done by 12:30 PM
• Bring your refillable water bottle and dress for the weather
• Assignments will be made after truck portions are determined
• Available jobs—greeting, sorting/ bagging, unloading,  filling boxes, registering clients, or parking/traffic
