Blood Drive August 9

Donating blood is a critical, lifesaving act that helps patients in need, including those undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or suffering from trauma. A single donation can save up to three lives, as it is separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. There is no substitute for human blood, making voluntary donations essential for community health.

Blessing of the Backpacks

God is with you every step of the way—and so is your church family! As we gear up for a new school year, we invite children of all ages, college students, and teachers/educators to bring their backpacks or bags to our church service on August 9th. Pastor Pat will pray over your year ahead, and we will hand out a special reminder for your bag. Also, our kids and teens can pick up a special back-to-school goodie bag!

The Backpack Sunday Luncheon will begin after

the 11 AM service.

School Supply Drive

Please drop off your supplies in the designated boxes located in the church lobby. A copy of the supply list can be found at the Welcome Center, or access this link:

Monetary donation are also accepted. Please make your check payable to LCUMC and include "school supplies" in the memo line.

We will be collecting through August 9.

Heather Gates, Guest Preacher

We are pleased to welcome Heather Gates as our guest preacher for both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services.

Heather serves as the Police Chaplain for the City of Galveston and is a United Methodist deacon on staff at Moody Methodist Church. Many in our congregation will also remember her as the former Youth Director at League City UMC. This past summer, she served as co-director and camp preacher for UM ARMY.

Please join us in giving Heather a warm League City UMC welcome!

We want to capture you and your family during worship on one of the following dates: August 9th & 16th. We especially encourage families with college students who are preparing to head off to campus to come in this Sunday. However, everyone is welcome on any of these dates.

Times when the photographer will be available:

· 9:45-10:00 AM (after Magnify worship or before Small Group class)

· 10:45-11:00 AM (before Traditional worship)

· 11:50-12:15 PM (brief period after Traditional worship)
