Over the course of five weeks, we will delve into the lives of various biblical figures who exemplified the virtue of generosity in profound ways. Each week will focus on a single narrative passage from both the Old and New Testaments, allowing us to explore the nature of generosity.
Why focus on generosity? The Bible offers us a rich tapestry of stories that serve as models for generous living. These narratives invite us to reflect on our own acts of giving, urging us to go beyond mere transactions to transformative acts of grace. Generosity is a lifestyle, a reflection of God's abundant grace in our lives.
Schedule:
Week 1: The Widow's Offering (Mark 12:41-44)
Week 2: Abraham's Choice (Genesis 13:5-18)
Week 3: Elijah and the Widow (1 Kings 17:7-16)
Week 4: Ruth's Loyalty (Ruth 1:16-18)
Week 5: Biblical Generosity: A Definition (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)
Can you imagine a church where generosity isn't just a word—it's a way of life. The Generosity Challenge is a transformative journey that takes us beyond the traditional "stewardship campaign" and into the heart of what it means to be a community fueled by grace, gratitude, and giving.
Are you ready to rise to the challenge?
This year’s Generosity Challenge is centered on recognizing that we are born to be generous, that giving is grounded in our gratitude for what we have been given, and that generosity becomes more than an action when we allow it to be rooted in our lives through prayer.
The challenge offers daily prayer prompts, bible studies, a daily devotional, and opportunities to support the church.
