18 years after the church building was started on the far west end of League City, the sanctuary was completed (on what was no longer the 'far' west end).
The beautiful wall of white stone behind the altar represented the strong foundations of both the Church and our Christ. We are reminded of the hymns: "On Christ, the Solid Rock I Stand" and "The Church's One Foundation." We also remember the Resurrection of Jesus as the stone was rolled away.
We have taken this symbol with us and included it in our newest worship space, as well as the cross that hung on it.
The cornerstone completed the building on May 23, 1976.
George & Karlee Marcom purchased the original 2 octaves of the Malmark bells and Karlee started a youth bell choir in the mid-60’s. The adult bell choir started in 1981 with Karlee Marcom at the helm.
