Bible Studies

Ladies' Bible Studies (LIFT) -- LCUMC has always encouraged Bible study and small group growth.  Growing spiritually through study with other women has been accomplished through studying various sources, such as Max Lucado's books/Bible studies, Women of Faith Bible studies, and Beth Moore Bible studies.

The women's grous LIFT (Ladies in Faith Together) meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 am in the conference room in the administrative hall of the church.  Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend!

We will finish up our Advent Study entitled The Uncluttered Heart: Making Room for God During Advent and Christmas by Beth Richardson this coming Wednesday.  We decided on a new study that uses a DVD called No Other Gods by Kelly Minter beginning on Wed. January 22.  The participant books cost about $14; get free shipping using Amazon Prime.  An order will be place by Sunday, January 12 so we can get them in time.  If you would like Maria Schoen to order a book for you, please  call her at (832) 517-8755.

After this study, we hope to start on one by Beth Moore.  Hope to see you at LIFT (Ladies in Faith Together) on Wednesday!

Men's Bible Study -- "Men at 10" - Thursday mornings at 10 AM men of all ages meet in room 134 with our Senior Pastor to study the Bible. If you are a stay at home dad, retired or have Thursdays off work, please join us!

The Disciple Bible Study format is an engaging video-based study of Scripture facilitated by a member of a covenantal group.  The weekly meetings are made most meaningful by prayerful readings of daily assignments, which are then discussed by all in the weekly gathering.

Beginning Sept 8th, Sandra Allison will lead the Christian Believer study.  This program will focus on classical teachings of the Christian faith, presenting, explaining and interpreting them in a way that participants can understand, through the use of words, symbols and hymns.  Over a 30-week period, participants will examine the writings of ancient and modern Christian commentators and view video presentations by leading Bible scholars.

Thursday Night Bible Study -Rev. Joel McMahon, III,  holds a Bible study on Thursday nights.  Topic will be posted on FaceBook as the focus changes.  All are welcome to attend!

Financial Peace University will be led by Kyle Norman on Sundays at 5-7 pm.  In this study participants will learn God's way of handling money (Dave Ramsey's course).  In just nine weeks, through video teaching and small group interactive discussions, learn biblical steps on how to take control of your money, pay off debt, invest in your future, and experience financial peace!  (Childcare is available)

Faith over Fear begins Sept. 10th, led by Paula Griffith.
